Doctoral Study at the ICS The Institute of Classical Studies is now accepting applications for doctoral study. The ICS has one of the largest research libraries in the UK for all aspects of classics, it runs seven standing seminar series and hosts numerous conferences and other events. It has strong links to the British Museum, the British Schools overseas and other partners, and is at the centre of one of the largest communities of classics researchers on the planet. A series of seminars will be held at the ICS during the autumn on the theme of 'Women writing the Classics'. The series starts with Caroline Lawrence and Gail Strickland talking about Children's Fiction, chaired by Frances Foster. Further details of the series are available here .
A podcast is now available for the lecture on 'The Greek East under Rome: art and cultural interaction' given by Roland R R Smith, Lincoln Professor of Classical Archaeology and Art, University of Oxford on 24 September at the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens.
